November 19 @ 9:00 pm – 11:59 pm
Every month, the new moon brings the darkest skies, strongest tides, and triggers amazing behaviors in sea creatures while guiding traditional farming practices.
What’s Important About the New Moon?
Tides – New moons cause the highest high tides, and lowest low tides. These are known as spring tides.
Astronomy – New moon = dark skies. Which is better for star-gazing and especially great for watching meteor showers.
Fishing – Lunar phases to affect the feeding patterns of fish. Some fisherman swear that the best time to fish are the days around the new moon.
Agriculture – Many traditional farmers see the new moon as the right time for starting plants and seeds.
