September 19 @ 10:30 am – September 20 @ 12:00 pm
Hey Folks! I’m teaching a few classes about identifying, foraging, and cooking mushrooms this year through the city of Campbell River’s rec program!
I’m excited to share my excitement, and knowledge about local fungi.
The first class is called “Mushroom Picking for Beginners – Identification and Foraging” and we be held over two mornings on Sept 19th & 20th.
The first morning, will be classroom time. I’ll be showing how you to identify mushrooms, and sharing where and when to pick.
The next day we’ll meet at Beaver Lodge Lands (via Trask Road), and walk through the forest identifying interesting fungi.
You’ll leave the two days with knowledge & first-hand experience to help you safely identify edible mushrooms and know the deadly mushrooms to stay away from.

About me: I’ve been studying mushrooms in Campbell River for the past 20 years, and love taking people for walks through the fall forest to introduce them to our amazing mushroom varieties.
I pick over 30 species edible mushrooms, and these guides will introduce you to some of my favorites.
