Look Up Tonight: Meteor Showers

November 14 @ 9:00 pm 11:59 pm

There are currently a few different meteor showers happening right now: The Taurids and the Leonids. With the Leonid Meteor Shower peaking overnight on Nov 16th.

Plus, it’s dark skies with waning crescent moon.

When we have clear skies, it’s a good chance to see shooting stars — so keep an eye out!

What the Leonids?

The Leonid meteor showers happen every November, bringing quick and bright shooting stars across the sky.

They come from debris left by the Tempel-Tuttle comet and are easiest to spot late at night or just before sunrise.

Sometimes people see a handful every hour… in rare years there can be hundreds.

How to Watch the Leonid Meteors

For the best experience, find a dark spot far from streetlights, dress warmly, and look up at the sky.

The Leonid meteors seem to come from the direction of the Leo constellation, but you’ll see them all over the sky. No telescope needed … just relax and enjoy the view!

Hopefully the weather corporates and the skies are clear.
