Island Voices Chamber Choir: “Anything Can Happen”
On March 16, 2025, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, the Island Voices Chamber Choir invites you to an unforgettable journey into music and imagination with their concert, “Anything Can Happen.”
Directed by John Hooper, the choir will traverse a range of unexpected musical territories—from the childhood fear of noises under your bed to the existential musings of a dying satellite, Voyager, as it drifts through space.
Keep your senses alert for ancient Latin prayers reimagined by contemporary composers, offering a refreshing take on age-old texts.
The performance will also bring the poetry of Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson to life with rhythmic and harmonic sophistication, while two distinct renditions of Ave Maria will showcase the vocal range of the men and women of the choir.
A highlight of the evening is the interactive rendition of “Earth Song,” where audience members familiar with the piece are invited to sing along, creating a communal musical moment.
