Hey Folks! I often see people asking “when do GST rebates come out?” posted around Facebook, so I added these to this website’s event calendar for easy reference.
GST Rebate Payment Dates
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) typically sends GST/HST rebate credit payments around the fifth day of January, April, July, and October each year.
However…
When the 5th falls on a Saturday, a Sunday, or a federal holiday, the payment will be made on the last business day before the 5th.
For example: if the 5th falls on a weekend (Sat or Sun), the payment will be sent out on the last business day (usually a Friday) before the 5th.
Upcoming GST Rebate Payment Dates
The next GST rebate payment will be Friday July 3rd, 2026 (because the 5th of July is on a Sunday).

GST Payment Missing?
If you do not receive your GST/HST credit payment by direct deposit on the expected date, the CRA says “please wait 10 working days before contacting us“.
You can login to your My Account to check your next payment date or sign up to receive reminders about benefit and credit payments approximately one week before they are issued.

What Time is GST Deposited?
There is no set time that GST hits your bank account, it this depends on your bank. Banks tend to do these in batches. (for example, I’m with TD and payments that come from transfers or direct deposit get posted at 4pm most of the time, vs when the person or organization actually sends them to me).
So, keep an eye on your direct deposits to see what time these payments come for you.
Updates to GST Rebates
Earlier this year, PM Carney announced an increase to the GST rebate payments and an additional grocery rebate, as seen in this newsclip:

It’s still a bit confusing on the details, but from the best I can tell… a one-time grocery rebate is going to be released in the spring (so maybe included with the April payment?), but no definitive answer from the Gov that I can find. And, the new calculations will begin in the July (as they always do).
Do we ever get our GST in one month once the year? Is that a possibility
