June 10 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Today is a perfect day to visit the beach and explore tidepools with extra-low tide during daylight.
Over the next week, plan a trip for late morning / early afternoon at Willow Point Reef.
Expect very low tides between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., dropping to their lowest around noon on June 11th.
Discover anemones, sea cucumbers, starfish, chitons, crabs, eels, and more. This is a fun opportunity for curious kids and nature-loving adults to enjoy a day by the shore.
Tips:
For tidepool adventures, aim for low tides. The lowest tides usually occur around the full moon and offer the best opportunities to observe the most species.
Dress well. Gumboots or watershoes are best.
Tides come in fast. Set an alert on your watch incase you lose track of time.
