DESCRIPTION:It’s a great day to get out early to flip over rocks and discover amazing marine critters on our shores. \n\n\n\nHead to the shore this morning for a fun adventure around low tide. \n\n\n\nThe tide should be nice and low in the morning\, with the lowest tide hitting around 10am. (always double check tides before heading out!) \n\n\n\nYou might find anemones\, colorful sea cucumbers\, starfish\, lined chitons\, shield limpets\, and top snails. \n\n\n\nIt’s a great chance for everyone from curious kids to nature-loving adults to enjoy a lively\, educational day right by the shore. 🌞  \n\n\n\nWhere to Tidepool in Campbell River?\n\n\n\nJust about any easily accessible beach is fun to walk on during low tides. Rotary Beach Park\, at the bottom of Rockland hill\, the Tyee Spit — etc. etc. \n\n\n\nBut\, if you haven’t been to the Willow Point Reef that could be a good spot: \n\n\n\n\n\nBeach Combing & Tidepooling Tips\n\n\n\n⏰ Never turn your back to the sea! Be vigilant of incoming tides and unexpected waves to ensure safety. \n\n\n\n🐚Avoid stepping on seaweed-covered areas\, as they can be slippery and may conceal marine life. Walk on rocks or sand to avoid harming marine organisms.  \n\n\n\n🦀 Dress well. Gumboots or watershoes are best. Gloves can be handy for flipping rocks without worrying about barnacles. \n\n\n\nLearn more about Tides.

DESCRIPTION:If you’re up for a weekend that doesn’t take itself too seriously\, the Colourful Run might be your thing.  \n\n\n\nEveryone starts out in clean clothes and ends up absolutely covered in bright colours after a few laps through Willow Point Park (Sportsplex).  \n\n\n\n\n\nNo racing\, no clocks… just walk\, run\, or skip however you want. Kids are everywhere\, and honestly\, adults don’t hold back either! 😄 \n\n\n\nCheck-in starts at 9am\, with the running (or walking) getting started at 9:30am. It’s open to all ages\, and if the little ones are under 5\, it’s free for them. Six and up—just a $5 fee\, which keeps it pretty family-friendly. \n\n\n\nAfter the route\, everyone hangs around for snacks\, music\, and the chance to hit up a giant foam pit by the Splash Park. If you’ve never worn rainbow powder in your hair or watched your friends get doused in purple\, consider this your shot. \n\n\n\nBring an old shirt\, maybe a towel for cleanup\, and a good sense of humour. Rain or shine\, it’s just about making memories with friends and family 🎉.
