September 16 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Low tides are lower than average around the full moon.
Today there will be a low tide around 10am of about 0.9 meters, making it a good opportunity to get out the rocky beaches in Campbell River and Willow Point Reef to explore the tide pools.
It’s the right time to find star fish, urchins and dozens of other critters that are uncovered during low tides.
If you head out by 9 or 9:30, that should give you time to hit the low tide around 10:20 am.
Just about any shoreline with rocks is good to explore, but one of the best spots is Willow Point Reef, which is accessible via Jaycee Park. The reef probably won’t be completely accessible as it is during tides under 0.5 meters, but still worth exploring.
